The business district in Historic Deutschtown is  set squarely in the middle of the area, with the center on East Ohio Street. It also includes some businesses set in the residential side streets that straddle either side of East Ohio Street.

The net effect is to allow visitors to find many of the services they need in a small, easily walkable street with a large municipal parking lot in the center, while rewarding those visitors who go “off the mainstreet” into the neighborhoods with interesting businesses and surrounding homes.

Many of the buildings are interesting in and of themselves, with a heavy sprinkling of 1800’s National Register buildings serving as homes to modern retail and other businesses.  Many structures were built by the early German, Swiss and Austrian immigrants that gave Deutschtown its name.

We invite our visitors and our regular customers to spend a minute and enjoy the fact that you are in a real and historic business district with local owners – not a mall or a “faux old development”.
